Essai visuel entre philosophie et science-fiction, ce film raconte les deux parties d’une histoire du langage envisagé comme un parasite pour les corps qui lui donnent naissance. Porté par les voix d’Agathe Bonitzer et Laure-Lucile Simon, le texte incarne une lettre fictive inspirée par un accessoire de scène présent dans la dernière pièce inachevée de Guy de Cointet, The Bridegroom. La 1ère partie du film déploie le récit d’une histoire naturelle des signaux et du langage prenant pour fonds une série de tableaux colorés improvisés au synthétiseur vidéo analogique et capturés en direct. La 2nde partie du film ré-inscrit le récit, la langue et les mots dans les contours des corps des deux actrices (dont les voix constituent le voice-over du film). Ces contours s’étirent et se diluent dans le reflet d’un dispositif technique filmé, pour peut-être ne former qu’un seul personnage à l’identité double.

A visual essay between philosophy and science fiction, the film tells the two parts of a story of language seen as a parasite for the bodies that give birth to it. Through the voices of Agathe Bonitzer and Laure-Lucile Simon, the text embodies a fictional letter inspired by a stage prop present in Guy de Cointet's last unfinished play, The Bridegroom. The first part of the film unfolds the tale of a natural history of signals and language taking as its backdrop a series of colorful landscapes improvised with an analog video synthesizer and captured live. The 2nd part of the film re-inscribes the story, the language and the words in the contours of the bodies of the two actresses (whose voices constitute the voice-over of the film). These contours stretch and dissolve in the reflection of a filmed technical device, to perhaps form a single character with a double identity.
